The punch needle miniature album quilt featured in this book is inspired by a circa 1840 Maryland Album applique quilt that is now in the permanent collection of the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont. The original bed-size Horse and Birds Album Quilt, which measures an impressive 98" x 101", has been replicated in punch needle through the use of 25 blocks scaled to 5" each, with borders added to make a quilt that measures 30" x 30". Individual blocks are suitable for framing, or the miniature masterpiece quilt may be displayed as a welcoming wallhanging.
